CAKE DESIGN

Client agrees to give Cake Dame freedom to change design if needed for stability, overall aesthetic, structural integrity and any other emergency. Client also understands that Cake Dame will do her best to copy colors as specified. Client also understands that cake design is a creative art form and therefore final design is an interpretation of the agreed design.

DESIGN UPDATES

Any changes to the design such as size, colors, flavors, etc., will be accepted up to 1 week before the event. After the lockout date, Cake Dame cannot make any changes. If design changes are made, Cake Dame reserves the right to update the original price accordingly. No work will be done on the cake until full payment has been received.

DELIVERY/ CUSTOMER PICKUP

If you would like to pick up your cake, please come prepared with a flat open area, not a seat. A pick up time will be set up ahead of time, please do not be late. A $10 late fee will be charged for every 1/2 hour after the appointed time, unless there is communication beforehand. Cake Dame will take every precaution to make sure the cake will be stable and ready for transport. (PLEASE be aware that there are skewers or dowels in the center of each cake. DO NOT smash anyones face into the cake. If that is the purpose of the cake, please specify this in the consultation. Smash cakes for children will also have skewers to keep stable for transport, so please be aware.) When transporting a cake, please drive slowly and take turns and stops carefully. Blasting A/C will help provide a cool environment especially in warmer months.

Delivery by Cake Dame is based on availability, and a time will be arranged in advance. There will be a delivery charge depending on location. After setup or pickup is complete, Cake Dame is not responsible for any damages to the cake, including but not limited to: melting in direct sunlight or high temperatures, bumping, scraping, dropping, mishandling by moving to a different table, etc. It is recommended to be aware of the placement of the cake table while deciding the layout of your event.

Company responsibility in the case of unavoidable situation, such as a car accident or poor road conditions during delivery. Cake Dame cannot be held liable for more than the cost of the ordered cake. In the event of a personal or family emergency, and ordered cake cannot be fulfilled, Cake Dame will forfeit all payments and will do their best to find another suitable Cake Designer in the area to take over the cake order. Cake Dame will do its best to negotiate the same pricing that was originally agreed upon. Client is allowed to deny services of a new decorator and simply accept the refund.

NON-EDIBLE ITEMS

Cake Dame will not be responsible for consumption of any non-edible items placed on your cake and desserts such as flowers, wires, ribbons, etc. Any non-edible items must be removed by the client before the cake is consumed.

ALLERGY DISCLAIMER

Cake Dame is not responsible for any medical issues that may arise from consuming the product. Client must disclose any known allergies for them or their guests at the time of cake consultation. These Specialty cakes and desserts are very lovingly made in a Utah home kitchen. A kitchen used specifically just for Cake Dame orders. The homemade foods sold to you have not been certified, licensed, regulated or inspected by state or local authorities, and cannot be resold. Every and all efforts will be made to avoid cross contamination, these products are made in a shared kitchen with all known common allergens including milk, soy, wheat, eggs, and any and all nut products. Cake Dame can never guarantee that product is 100% free of allergens. Client understands in the case of an extreme allergen or medical condition, Cake Dame strongly encourages client to order through another specialized bakery, and reserves the right to pass on the specialized order.

PAYMENT

Cake Dame does not require deposits. Full payment must be received at least 10 days prior to date. If payment is not received by designated day, Cake Dame will not be held responsible for completing the requested service. Client is aware that Cake Dame availability is a first come, first served basis. Cake Dame cannot guarantee that all accommodations can be made in the case of a date change. In the case of a cancelation, if only supplies have been purchased or work already completed, the appropriate amount will be deducted from the refund.

Please remember, communication is key. we understand that life happens, so please be up-front about any issues and Cake Dame will do it’s best to accommodate your needs.

Different payment options are available. A 3% merchant fee will be applied for Venmo, Credit Card and PayPal. To avoid the fee, American First transfer, cash in advance, cleared check or CashApp can be accepted.
